Code of Conduct

“Compete with Honor. Create with Respect. Belong with Pride.”

MSEUF Wildcats Esports (MWE), the official esports organization of Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation, is committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all members of our community.

Our events are spaces for collaboration, competition, creativity, and fun. We value every participant and expect all attendees—players, cosplayers, organizers, volunteers, partners, and guests—to treat one another with dignity and respect throughout all MWE activities, whether on-campus or online.

Organizers reserve the right to enforce this Code of Conduct at all official MWE events and platforms.

The Long Version

1. Anti-Harassment Policy

Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated.

Harassment includes, but is not limited to:

  • Offensive verbal comments related to gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, religion, or status
  • Sexualized comments, jokes, or images in public spaces
  • Deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following
  • Harassing photography or recording
  • Sustained disruption of tournaments, matches, panels, or activities
  • Inappropriate physical contact
  • Unwelcome sexual attention

Participants asked to stop any inappropriate behavior are expected to comply immediately.

2. Respectful Communication

Be mindful of your language. Sexist, racist, homophobic, ableist, or otherwise exclusionary jokes are not acceptable. Excessive swearing directed at others, trash talk that becomes personal, or any degrading remarks are not appropriate at MWE events.

Competitive spirit is welcome. Disrespect is not.

3. Cosplayer Protection & Consent Policy

MWE supports and celebrates the creativity of cosplayers. To ensure their safety and comfort:

  • Do not touch cosplayers—or anyone—without clear and explicit permission.
  • Do not grab props, costumes, wigs, or accessories without consent.
  • Always ask before taking photos or videos. Respect their answer if they decline.
  • Harassment, objectification, or inappropriate comments about a cosplayer’s body or costume will not be tolerated.
  • “Cosplay is not consent.” Wearing a costume does not imply permission for physical contact, suggestive comments, or invasive behavior.

Violation of these rules may result in removal from the event.

4. Conduct for Players and Teams

All players are expected to demonstrate sportsmanship and professionalism.

This includes:

  • No cheating, hacking, stream-sniping, or use of unauthorized software
  • No verbal abuse toward opponents, teammates, or officials
  • Respecting tournament rules and decisions made by referees or organizers
  • Avoiding disruptive behavior during matches
  • Maintaining appropriate in-game names and team names

Unsportsmanlike conduct may result in penalties, match forfeiture, suspension, or disqualification.

5. Booths, Partners, and Exhibitors

Sponsors, partners, and booth representatives are also subject to this Code of Conduct.

  • No sexualized imagery or inappropriate displays
  • No discriminatory messaging
  • Staff must maintain respectful and professional behavior

6. Enforcement

If a participant engages in harassing or inappropriate behavior, MWE organizers may take action deemed appropriate, including:

  • Verbal warning
  • Removal from the venue
  • Disqualification from tournaments
  • Suspension from future MWE events
  • Referral to university authorities if necessary

All decisions made by the organizing committee are final.

7. Reporting Concerns

If you experience or witness behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, please report it immediately to an MWE officer or event organizer.

Event staff can be identified by official IDs, shirts, or badges.

We are committed to assisting participants who feel unsafe, including coordinating with university security when necessary.

8. Scope

This Code of Conduct applies to:

  • All MWE events and tournaments
  • Both physical and online platforms
  • Official after-events and social gatherings related to MWE
